DIIN
Diin was born and raised in Los Angeles, CA. Classically trained as an oil painter, he graduated from San Francisco Art Institute in 2017 with a BFA in oil painting and critical theory becoming the first in his family to attend and graduate from college. In 2019 he began tattooing in Oakland.
A huge fan of Japanese pop culture, fashion, queer cult films and romance novels he now is obsessed with tattooing anything and everything queer, from Tom of Finland to Yaoi. Diin specializes in black work/black and grey stipple style, realism, fine and bold line, and illustrative styles. He loves fantasy-inspired tattooing such as manga panels, anime, boy love, danmei and video game art, but also portraiture, bones and botanicals and has truly honed his skills as a walk-in artist excelling at a wide variety of tattooing.
Diin is a gender queer Salvadorian and believes this intersection informs his tattooing practices, that self-expression and exploration are essential to resisting societal pressures. He’s a medium who’s down to help you transform, whether it’s modding your character or body modification from a trauma-informed experience.
